Ready for more!

I have finally remembered my log in information for this blog! You know it's been too long since I've posted now.

Google is trying to make my life harder. With all their new features, it's hard to keep track of individual google accounts. I have no idea how many I have at the moment, oh my!

But, life is good at the moment. I am currently taking a class at my community college (NOVA). It's a math class that is supposed to be the equivalent of Liberty's Math 110. I'm not seeing any similarities at the moment, but this math is easier at this point....because we're studying logic more than numbers, so I'm happy. :)

It's weird getting back into the habit of being at home alone. I'm so used to having no peace and quiet on the hall and seeing my friends every day, and now I feel like I'm isolated. It's a strange feeling. But God is teaching me a lot in the time that I've spent with Him these past few weeks.

My friend from Xtreme Impact, Kelly Garber, posted this on her facebook, and it's really refreshing. The words made me a bit dizzy. I just closed my eyes and thought of how true this is.

I know some friends who have been wrestling with their past, and I've done the same. But Christ makes us new each morning.

"Assuming that you have heard about Him and were taught in Him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness." Eph 4:24 (emphasis added)

How wonderful, that we are forgiven and can have joy because of what He has done.

I've been worried about classes, tests, and relationships, when really life is Not About Me, as I learned so long ago, and keep learning. Life is about glorifying God, which means shining for Him.

We all know at least one person who shines for Christ. And I mean, you love being around them because they make you happier, they make you feel like you can be alive in Christ. What if every Christian were like that, what would our world look like then? If we reflected every day, every hour, on how awesome God is. How amazing would that be? But it's HARD. Jesus never said, "Hey, my way is easy, you should come hang out with me if you feel like it, and if you don't have anything easier to do."

In fact Matthew 7:13 says, "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many." (emphasis added)

The reason Christians are being persecuted is because that's what we signed up for! But the only way we're going to fight is if we give our struggles over to God. He can handle them.

My first year of college was the most different experience I've ever had. I met people I never thought I would, tried new activities, made incredible friends, was inspired, was tired, was encouraged, was excited!

My first week or two into college, my Indiana brother, Jon, sent me a text with a note of encouragement and a Bible verse. Matthew 16:33, "In this world you will have troubles. But take heart! I have overcome the world!". It's been my favorite Bible verse since, and a true encouragement to me, and those I lead.
